Today there is a short update on the two challenges and what winter has done to them.
- Cycling
After Christmas I actually had to take a break, which is still going on. I rode my shorter route to Friedrichshafen all winter, but I can't manage the 40 km to Weingarten and back in the evening, for several reasons. For one, the cycle path is often icy (I found that out by inspecting it when I drive past in the car), and because the nights are so long I would have to ride partly in the dark. That is too tiring for me, paying such close attention to the path with only a bike light. For another, I noticed that when I get tired, the effort of riding no longer warms me properly and I arrive home absolutely frozen. So it's still a break for now; I hope to be back in the saddle in two weeks. - Solar charging
By hanging the large solar panel cleverly, I have now managed to get through about 5 days out of 7 with the inductive battery. On the other two days I can get by with the original power bank and the small solar panel, which charges on the side on the remaining days.
